PURPOSE:To obtain the title resin of a long pot life without shortening its gelation time, by reacting melamine with formaldehyde and a urea compound. CONSTITUTION:The title resin is obtained by reacting 1mol of melamine with 0.1-1.0mol of a urea compound such as (methylene)urea, propyleneurea or urone. This resin is dissolved in a solvent such as methanol or acetone to obtain a melamine resin varnish.
