The system according to the invention employs at least one gamma -radiation sensor comprising a casing 1 forming an ionisation chamber 4 fitted with an electrometer and including at least one optically transparent zone 3, a reading device comprising an optical assembly L'3 capable of generating an image of the moving part 5 of the electrometer, and means provided on the reading device and on the sensor in order to allow removable coupling of one of the sensors onto the said reading device, these means being designed so that in the coupled position, the optical assembly L'3 is set on the moving part 5 of the electrometer.
