PURPOSE:A seed disinfectant that contains, as active ingredients, 2-bromo-2- bromomethylglutaronitrile and bis(dimethylthiocarbamoyl)disulfide, thus showing outstanding effect for rice seeds infected with resistant BAKANAE-causative microorganism and against rice plant Helminthosporium leaf spod. CONSTITUTION:The objective disinfactant contains, as active ingredients, the compound of formula I (BBMG) and the compound of formula II (TMTD). The resultant disinfectant manifests synergism to completely control BAKANAE causative-microorganisms which are difficult to combat with single application of these components, because they are resistant to benomyl and thiofanate methyl. Further, it shows good disinfectant action for seeds infected with Helminthosporium leaf spt. The ratio of these ingredients may be varied according to application conditions and it is preferred that 0.5-3.0pts.wt. of TMTD is used per 1pt.wt. of BBMG.
