PURPOSE:To contrive to improve reliability not giving bad effect on the meniscus of a nozzle surface of a head, by a method wherein a conducting member which introduces liquid by a capillarity phenomenon is passed through inside of a cap roller room. CONSTITUTION:When a recording device is used, a cap roller 12 is revolved and a capping member 13 is removed from the position of a nozzle surface 1e of the head 1, thus the nozzle surface 1e is opened to the outside and recording becomes possible. In the meantime, in the case of capping operation while not in use, the cap roller 12 is revolved in the reversed direction from above mentioned case, and the capping member 13 is made to coincident to the nozzle surface 1e of the head 1. Then, since the capping member 13 is pressed to the head 1 approaching to the tangential line vertical to the nozzle surface 1e and works to cover the periphery of the nozzle surface 1e, meniscus of the surface 1e is not pressed. Liquid is introduced in a room 12b of the cap roller 12 and the capping member 13 by a conducting member 11, and is kept high humidity, so the evaporation of ink is prevented. |
