Such a supporting block is fitted on a flat roof, in that a container 1 is provided through an opening 2 with a stone filling 10, and the container as well as the stone filling are placed on the flat roof. In this case, it is desirable for the process of filling the container with stones to be simplified and for the snap catches to be firmly positioned, independently of the stone filling, without firm reinforcement of the cover. This is achieved in that the container 1 [one] is closed on the bottom 3 without a cover and is open 2 at the top, and supports the two snap catches 7 on mutually opposite side walls 6, and in that the container 1 and the stone filling 10 are placed on the flat roof separately from one another, and the container 1 is filled with the stone filling 10 through the opening 2, which is located on the top, of the container 1 which is resting on the bottom 3. The processes linked with filling the container with stones and with placing the container and the stone filling on the flat roof are simplified. <IMAGE>
