PURPOSE:To increase noise resistance and to enable the accurate measurement of temp. by forming a sensor from transparent ceramics having electrooptical effect and a transparent membrane. CONSTITUTION:Transparent electrodes ITO are attached to both surfaces of transparent ceramics PLZT having electrooptical effect to form comb shaped electrodes and reflection preventing films are adhered to both surfaces of PLZT with electrodes by sputtering and, further, heat resistance polarizing films are applied on the surfaces of said reflection preventing films. In this case, the direction of the electric fields shown by arrows generated by the comb shaped electrodes is set to about 45 deg. with respect to the polarized direction of polarizing plates and two polarizing plates are arranged so that the polarizing directions cross at right angles to each other. When He-Ne laser is irradiated at the parts where the comb shaped electrodes of this element are formed, the intensity of transmitted light changes corresponding to applied voltage. When temp. changes, the intensity of transmitted light to voltage also changes. Therefore, when temp. changes while the voltage applied to the electrodes is made constant, the intensity of transmitted light also changes and, by measuring the intensity of transmitted light under a constant voltage condition, temp. can be measured. |
