Shock wave tube with coil and diaphragm

The shock wave tube (1) comprises a coil (4) which is preferably encapsulated in a coil insulating frame (3). One insulating film (7, 17) each is located on either side of the coil insulating frame (3). A diaphragm (9, 19) made from electrically conductive material adjoins the insulating film (7, 17) in each case. When a shock wave is initiated by discharging a capacitor onto the coil (4), the two diaphragms (9, 19) are pressed outwards suddenly, resulting in the emission of shock waves (P1, P2). The reactions on the coil (4) at least largely cancel each other out in this case. Together with the coil insulating frame (3), the coil (4) therefore has a long service life. <IMAGE>
