The foundation bed consists of a base plate (2), an adjusting ring (3) and a conical ring (4). A securing screw (5) is provided as means for locking the adjusting ring (3). The height of the foundation bed can be suitably controlled by rotating the adjusting ring (3). The adjusting ring (3) carries the conical ring (4), the bearing surface of both being spherical-convex (9). The bearing surface of the conical ring (4) on the machine side can thus assume any desired spherical/circular-conical position. <IMAGE>
