PURPOSE:To prevent roads from being damaged preventing dust pollution by installing a spike so that it is depressed deeper by the stated percentage of the depth of the spike from the surface of a spike tire. CONSTITUTION:A spike 10 is installed so that it is depressed deeper by a space D from the tire surface 11. Here, the space D is specified to be a space between the tip 12 of the spike 10 and the tire surface 11, and it should be normally from 6-40% of the length of the spike 10. This configuration restrains the spike 10 from being exposed because a tire wears less for the period of time when snow is light before roads are continuously covered with snow where the tire functions as an ordinary snow tire. By the time when roads are continuously covered with snow, the tire may have been worn allowing it to function as a spike tire. This configuration prevents roads from being damaged preventing dust pollution. |
