PURPOSE:To prevent a cutting edge from breaking and perform good cutting, by setting a cutting edge flank angle to a positive degree of 20 deg. or more further applying chamfer honing at a degree of the flank angle or more to an edge point of the cutting edge. CONSTITUTION:A cutting edge 5, being constituted by a main cutting edge 5a and a subcutting edge 5b, sets a flank angle TN of a flank 4 for the main cutting edge 5a to a 20 deg. positive angle. Also the subcutting edge 5b is given a flank angle TN1 of 25 deg. positive angle. A crossing part of a rake face 2 with the flank 4 applies a chamfer honing 6, and a honing angle H is set to 20 deg. or more. Accordingly, a throw away tip, excellent in its wearing resistance, is obtained by reinforcing strength of the cutting edge and enabling an easily breaking disadvantage of ceramic to be covered. |
