Pressure-reducing valve

Pressure-reducing valve with an inlet passage for attaching to a chlorine gas bottle and with an outlet passage for attaching to a metering pump working at a pressure below the atmospheric pressure. A valve opening in the direction of flow and loaded by a spring is arranged in the inlet passage. The valve is dimensioned in such a way that it remains closed if the pressure in the direction of flow upstream of the valve is below a pressure just above the atmospheric pressure. This ensures that the pressure in the attached chlorine gas bottle never reaches the atmospheric pressure or a pressure below it, so that moisture-laden air cannot pass into the chlorine gas bottle and lead to corrosion there in the event of separation of the pressure-reducing valve or by unintentional opening of the valve of the chlorine gas bottle.
