A frame clamping device (1), in particular for mitred frames (20), has at least three corner pieces (2) and a strip-type tension element (3) which surrounds the corner pieces (2) and a clamping unit (4) which comprises an angle jaw (5) which is fixed axially to a threaded spindle (6) and an attachment piece (9) which is guided on the spindle (6), is axially displaceable, and on which both ends of the tension element (3) are fixed - at least one of said ends being fixed releasably. To allow fast adaptation to different frame sizes and rapid application of high clamping forces, at least one end of the tension element (3) is guided on the attachment piece (9) in a clamping gap (17) which is formed by a pressing-on surface (16) and an eccentric cam (15) which can be pivoted into the clamping gap (17) by means of a hand lever (18) and whose height corresponds approximately to the gap width. <IMAGE>
