PURPOSE:To minimize penetration into and contamination of a thermal color forming layer and contrive higher productivity, by using an active ray curable varnish for providing a protective coat on a thermal recording paper. CONSTITUTION:An active ray curable varnish compriising (A) 20-60wt% of a photo-curable acrylic oligomer, (B) 20-60wt% of a photo-curable vinyl monomer, (C) 0.1-10wt% of a photo-polymerization initiator, (D) 0-15wt% of a photo-sensitizer, (E) 0-5wt% of an inert filler and (F) 0-5wt% of an organic coloring gent, with the total amount of components A, B, C, D, E and F being 100wt%, is applied to the surface of a thermal recording paper compriising a thermal color forming layer, in a coated film thickness of 1-20mum, and the coated film is irradiated with active rays to cure the coated film without developing the color of the thermal color forming layer. |
