PURPOSE:To provide a novel microbial strain which is a medium thermophilic microorganism separated from soil, belonging to Bacillus genus, and having heat-resistant D-amino acid transaminase activity. CONSTITUTION:Bacillus YM-1 (FERM-P 8057) and Bacillus YM-2 (FERM-P 8058) separated from soil. The above novel microbial strains have heat-resistant D-amino acid transaminase activity, and can be used in the high-temperature enzymatic reaction having low contamination with sundry germs. The heat- resistant D-amino acid transaminase produced by the microorganism can be used advantageously for the production of optically active amino acids, etc. |
