An outsole made of elastically yielding plastic for sports shoes with a sole profile which consists of a large number of profiled projections (5) which are arranged distributed over the walking side and taper conically towards their free end and which are in each case surrounded by a ring (4). The height of the ring (4) is in each case smaller than that of the associated profiled projection (5). In order to improve the self-cleaning capacity of the outsole profile, it is envisaged that the rings (4) surrounding the profiled projections (5) are hexagonal and form a continuous honeycomb pattern (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
