PURPOSE:To confirm the painting conditions of a painted material without providing a flowmeter and to paint excellently by injecting paint into a painting detector before and after painting and detecting the painting conditions. CONSTITUTION:In painting equipment using an industrial robot, a robot main body 3 is provided to a traveling stand 2, a painting device 4 is furnished to the robot main body 3 and a painting detector 6 is provided at the specified site on the traveling stand 2. The robot main body 3 is then operated, the spray gun of the painting device 4 is directed toward a glass sheet at the leading end of the arm of the painting detector 6 and paint is discharged from the spray gun under the same conditions as in painting a material 5 to be painted. Since the painting conditions are thus detected before and after painting of the material, a flowmeter need not be provided and a painted surface of good quality is formed.
