PURPOSE:To ensure easiness of operation by providing a display device logical device number acquisition means for acquiring a logical device number of each display device in a cluster system and a Unit Address assignment means to assign automatically the Unit Address used in a transmission control procedure with a host computer from the said logical device number. CONSTITUTION:The user uses the display device logical number acquisition means 1 to acquire the logical device number of the said display device and the Unit Address is generated automatically by the Unit Address assignment means 2 by using the logical device number as the input information. A Unit Address U41 corresponds to a logical device number N41 of the display device 41. Similarly, a Unit Address U4j corresponds to a logical device number N4j of the display device 4j. Thus, the operator can make operation without noticing the Unit Address.
