PURPOSE:To surely detect the contact of a bumper to an obstacle, by forming a bumper body with an outer cushion member having a relatively large compressive elastic modulus and an inner cushion member having a relatively small elastic modulus, and by attaching a pressure sensor on the outer surface of the outer cushion. CONSTITUTION:A bumper body 7 is formed of a two-layer structure cushion member composed of an outer cushion member 8 having a relatively large compressive elastic modulus and an inner cushion member 9 having a relatively small compressive elastic modulus, and is covered, over its outer surface, with an outer skin 10. A pressure sensor 11 is attached to the cushion member 8 in the vicinity of the outer surface thereof, for detecting the contact of the bumper to an object. |
