The invention relates to an awning casing for fastening on building surfaces, comprising retaining blocks and profiles which are in clamping connection therewith. Fastening the retaining blocks on building walls inevitably leads to irregularities of the building walls being transferred. In order nevertheless to ensure that the profiles bear on the retaining blocks in a stable and substantially distortion-free manner, the invention provides that, during mounting, the profile is first of all placed on one side of the retaining blocks, in bordering edges of the same, to form lever pivot points, and is pressed out of this position into a catch connection in which a tongue-and-groove connection is formed from the respective other side of the retaining blocks. The design required for this is depicted in detail. As a result, this leads to a stable fastening of the profiles on the retaining blocks.
