PURPOSE:To contrive to improve the strength, elastic modulus, heat resistance and chemical resistance by a constitution wherein diamine ingredient consists of 2-chloro-p-phenylene diamine (A) and 2-chlorobenzidine and/or 2,2'- dichlorobenzidine and the ratio of A in diamine is set to be about 20-80% by mole. CONSTITUTION:The chemical cyclizing method of copolyimide consisting of diamine ingredient, which comprises 40% by mole of 2-chloro-p-phenylene diamine (Cl-P) and 60% by mole of 2-chlorobenzene (Cl-Bz), and acid anhydride ingredient of pyromellitic anhydride (PMDA) is shown. Cl-P and Cl-Bz are dissolved in dehydrated NMP (n-methylphenazinium) and treated by cooling in order to obtain polyamic acid solution. The solution is diluted with NMP. After that, the mixture of acetic anhydride, pyridine and the like is dropped to said diluted solution. The resultant solution is spun from a nozzle with 6 holes in a coagulating bath made of NMP/water and stretched under water by the draw ratio of 160%. The coagulated filament, which is wound on a glass bobbin, is immediately immersed in acetic anhydride and pyridine and left one night at room temperature in order to chemically cyclize the remaining amide acid.
