Lawnmower with a cutter roller which is rotatably mounted and can be driven about a horizontal axis in a lawnmower housing and which cooperates with the lower cutter and consists of a shaft with a plurality of fastening plates retained on it and a plurality of cutters fastened to the fastening plates, the cutting edges of the cutters forming a cylinder of revolution during the rotation of the cutter roller, the cutter roller being mounted rotatably in side walls at its two shaft ends, and the two side walls which carry the cutter roller being connected to one another by means of a bar-shaped spacer with lower cutter, to form a constructional unit, and the constructional unit being retained in the lawnmower housing in an easily exchangeable way.
