PURPOSE:To register a fixed form phrase simultaneously with the initial input of the objective fixed form phrase without moving a cursor by using a key selecting state, an objective character output stage, a set stage, and a reset stage. CONSTITUTION:When a character index key is selected, objective characters are displayed on a display device after the indexing processing, and they are stored as a text character string at each time. When a function key for fixed form phrase simultaneous register is set, the sequence number of the present cursor position is stored as the initial value, and the cursor is not moved. When said function key is reset, the value obtained by subtracting one from the sequence number of the present cursor position is used as the last value, and the text character string between the initial value and the last value is moved to the character string of the fixed form phrase, and a register key is inputted before or after this movement, and the character string is written in an external memory, and the control is returned to the key selecting stage.
