PURPOSE:To prevent a dissolution and a water invasion of the titled device by treating a space part bounded in three directions by a terminal electrode for connecting to the outerside, a facing substrate projecting out to a position facing said electrode, and a sealing material, with a fluorocarbon water repellent agent which is soluble to an alcohol. CONSTITUTION:The space part bounded in the three directions by the terminal electrode for connecting to the outerside, the facing substrate projecting out to the position facing said electrode, and the sealing material is treated with the fluorocarbon water repellent agent which is soluble to the alcohol. Said fluorocarbon water repellent agent which is soluble to the alcohol, is the substance which contains the fluorocarbon chain and the group capable of affording the water repellent property in a molecule, and is soluble to the lower alcohol. The group capable of affording the water repellent property is preferably to be a silicon contg. group shown by the formula wherein R1, R2 and R3 may be the same or different with each other, and each are a lower alkyl group. The fluorocarbon chain and the group capable of affording the water repellent property may bond with each other in various kinds of bonding forms such as an amide and an ester bindings.
