Between vertical guides attached to the inside surfaces of a ship's hold are vertical lattice structure panels, spaced apart to match the size of the containers stacked in the hold. Each panel has pairs of vertical angles (8a,b) with their flanges extending outwards and spaced apart and also spaced from corresponding angles (7a,b) of adjacent panels. Attached to then angles are horizontal strips (9a,b) with diagonal strips (10) attached. The distance between the horizontals is equal to the heights of the containers. The ends of the horizontals overlap, and are secured by pairs of pins (16a,b). The ends of the horizontals adjacent to the sides of the hold project and are secured by fittings with wedges, to the sides of the hull.
|
