PURPOSE:To carry out effectively the local annealing of a metallic strip by forming several bands of coating layers of graphite powder having a specified particle size distribution on the surface of the metallic strip and by heating the coating layers with laser to form annealed parts. CONSTITUTION:One or plural bands of coating layers of graphite powder contg. particles of <=20mum particle size by >=50% are formed continuously or intermittently on one side or both sides of a metallic strip. The graphite powder is required to satisfy one or more conditions selected among >=2.1g/cm<3> true density, <=3.60Angstrom average distance between the planes of hexagonal carbon and >=500Angstrom diameter of microcrystals. The coating layers are then heated with laser or a high luminance light source to form annealed parts. |
