PURPOSE:When a plurality of tows consisting of wet-extruded acrilic fibers are taken up together in one bundle, water or aqueous solution is applied, before they are put together to prevent filaments from fusing and increase filament separation efficiency. CONSTITUTION:An acrylic polymer, preferably a flame-retardant acrylic polymer consisting of 40-80wt% of acrylonitrile and 20-60wt% of halogen-containing vinyl monomer is dissolved, the solution is subjected to wet spinning, the resultant acarylic fiber tows are previously treated with water or aqueous solution, preferably at 80 deg.C, preferably by spraying, then, a plurality of tows are put together and taken up.
