PURPOSE:To carry out coloring with superior weather resistance and high surface hardness by subjecting the surface of stainless steel to coloring by oxidation, to application of a transparent alkali silicate type paint, and to baking. CONSTITUTION:A stainless steel product is degreased, washed, and heated in an electric furnace or the like to form a colares oxidized film. The steel is then water-washed, to which the transparent inorganic alkali silicate type paint is applied. Succeedingly the steel is set up at the temp. from ordinary temp. to about 120 deg.C, baked further at about 150-230 deg.C for 20-30min to be hardened, and cooled. The thickness of the hardened film is preferably set up to >= about 300Angstrom . In this way, discoloration and feading of coloring of stainless steel can be prevented, and furthermore, protection and corrosion prevention of stainless steel can be attained. |
