<p>Compounds of formula I <CHEM> in which n represents an integer of from 3 to 6; R represents a hydrogen atom or a carboxylic acid esterifying group; R<1> and R<2>, which may be the same or different, each represents an amino protecting group, a hydrogen atom, a straight or branched chain alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or a cycloalkyl group having from 3 to 6 carbon atoms, an alkyl or cycloalkyl group being unsubstituted or substituted by an NH2 group which may be protected if desired or required; or R<1> and R<2> form an alkylene group having from 3 to 5 carbon atoms; and R<3> represents a hydrogen atom or a hydroxy protecting group; and salts thereof, have antibacterial and beta -lactamase inhibiting activity.</p> |
