PURPOSE:To render repetition of color formation and erasion stable and rapid, to enhance color formation efficiency, and display contrast by combining the color forming and erasing material with the surface of a conductive powder by using cyanur chloride. CONSTITUTION:The color forming and erasing material is combined with the surface of the conductive powder, and such a composite type electrochromic (EC) material, cyanur chloride uniformly reacts with the OH group of the powder and further reacts with the color forming and erasing material to combine both the powder and the material uniformly, thus permitting electrons to be transferred rapidly, repetition of color formation and erasion to be executed stably and rapidly, color formation to be made at high efficiency, high contrast display to be attained, and accordingly, an EC display element long in life and high in responsivity to be obtained.
