<p>A composite structure (1) for constructional applications comprises a cover layer (2) made of an actively needle bondable nonwoven fiber fabric and a backing layer (3) optionally of the same nonwoven fabric of a synthetic plastic sheet (7), in particular a sheet with depressions (8), between the cover layer (2) and the backing layer (3), a particle layer (5) with particles (6) of structural materials, such as sand, gravel, hydraulic binders or their mixtures, is arranged. The three layers (2, 3, 5) are needle bonded to each other preferably by means of holding fibers (4) taken from the cover layer (2). Various applications of the composite body (1) are disclosed wherein the composite structure may be advantageously used as a driveway or walkway cover, as replacement for pavements, as a weighting mat, for the plastering of walls, the construction of emergency shelters, the sealing of gaps and the filling of roof passages, with the utilization of the properties of the granular particles (6) and their treatment, especially when present in the form of mixtures.</p> |
