PURPOSE:To aim at improvements in controllability over an air-fuel ratio, by performing feedback control of the air-fuel ratio even at outside of the specified driving zone of an engine and, with a compensation value to be found out of this control, controlling the air-fuel ratio after the elapse of the specified time. CONSTITUTION:At the time of enrich zone driving of an engine, a fundamental fuel injection quantity to be found out of the specified time, an engine speed and a suction air quantity is compensated for feedback according to the output of an oxygen sensor 15 whereby an air-fuel ratio is feedback-controlled. With the compensated value at this time, the fundamental fuel injection quantity is compensated, finding the actual fuel injection quantity, and this injection quantity is fed with a fuel injection valve 4. Then, the air-fuel ratio of mixture is controlled so as to become the specified air-fuel ratio. Thus, improvements in controllability over the air-fuel ratio are promoted.
