PURPOSE:To read a series of picture planes and digital data of block structure with high efficiency by dividing a digital data signal into a block of a prescribed bit longer than one field of a TV video signal and shorter than one frame. CONSTITUTION:The length of one block of a digital data signal is selected as 18.816kbits and the length after interleaving is selected as 28ms. The interval (length of one field) of a vertical synchronizing signal is selected as 16.7ms. When a position detection means 42 detects the position of a vertical signal, a memory 41 outputs a digital data signal stored so far, processing such as interleaving is applied by an EFM encoder 9 and the result is added to a video signal and a sound signal by an adder 3. Thus, the head of the digital data signal is arranged and recorded near a position corresponding to the position of the video signal.
