PURPOSE:To make optical coupling possible only with the stop position precision of a motor by providing a rod lens in the front end of one of a common optical fiber and a selected optical fiber at least to increase the degree of allowance of the deviation between optical axes of the common optical fiber and selected optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:A rod lens of an optical fiber sleeve 11 with the rod lens is used as a collimator lens to perform optical coupling. Since the aperture of the rod lens is several tens times as large as core diameters of optical fibers 1 and 2, the degree of allowance of the deviation between their optical axes is larger than that in the case where the common optical fiber 2 and the selected optical fiber 1 are coupled optically directly. Thus, if a rotating plate 12 to which the optical fiber sleeve 11 with the rod lens stuck to the common optical fiber 2 is stuck is rotated at a desired angle by a stepping motor 5, optical coupling is performed with a good reproducibility with only the stop position precision of the stepping motor, and the durability and the reliability are excellent because there are no contacting parts. |
