THERMAL RECORDING HEAD

PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording head capable of giving sable recording without an adjustment even when exchanging recording heads by using a thermal recording head holding information to show the average resistance value of their heating resistors. CONSTITUTION:The memory 2 of a thermal recording head is capable of writing 4-bit digital information. By short-circuiting between given conductive metal terminals by using a conductive metal strap 7, information to show the average resistance value of heating resistors can be written in the memory 2. The information so written is read out in a drive circuit 4 through a signal line terminal 3 and a signal line 9 for reading out information when the head 1 is connected to the circuit 4. By the circuit 4, proper pulse width corresponding to information written in the memory 2 is set up to drive the head 1 through a signal line 10 for driving the head 1. A given density of recording can be obtained thereby. The time and labor to adjust the drive circuit in keeping with the head 1 when fitting and driving the head 1 can be saved.
