PURPOSE:To provide a composite material having excellent adhesivity to reinforcing fiber, and improved flexural strength and shear strength, by compounding a specific glycidyl compound with a curing agent and a photo-polymerization initiator, etc., and using the mixture as the resin matrix. CONSTITUTION:The objective composite material can be produced by compounding (A) the glycidyl compound of formula I (Ar is 6-20C aromatic hydrocarbon group having glycidyloxy group; R is H or methyl; n is 1-4) (e.g. the compound of formula II) with (B) a curing agent (e.g. phthalic anhydride) and (C) 0.1-10% photo-polymerization initiator or photo-sensitizer (e.g. azidobenzene, etc.) or a radical polymerization initiator (e.g. cumene hydroperoxide), and adding (D) a reinforcing fiber (e.g. glass fiber) to the mixture.
