RAPID-REMOVAL PLATFORM FOR DRILLING HYDROCARBON DEPOSITS AND FOR THE PRODUCTION AND STORAGE OF HYDROCARBON IN ARCTIC SEAS A drilling platform adapted to operate in seas where icebergs and icefields are frequently experienced is disclosed, said platform essentially comprising a discshaped baseplate ballasted by water-chambers and an upper structure which adheres to the baseplate by a vacuum effect, so that, when danger of collision with floating ice formations is impending, it becomes possible to separate the base plate form the upper structure and to remove the upper structure rapidly under hazardous conditions.
