The crate-handling roller buffer is in sections each roughly the length of a crate, while a lengthwise motor-driven shaft runs below the rollers. Other rollers coupled together by belts are brought into engagement with the shaft and track rollers to transmit the drive to the latter, this being cut in and out in successive sections. A pressure roller protrudes above the track when no crate is present and one or more stops are also movable up and down. The driving rollers are actuated by a first rod (30) coupling the pressure roller (18) to the rod (14) on which the driving rollers are mounted in a particular track section, while a second rod (36) coupled the pressure roller to the next section in the travel direction (P) of the crates and a third rod (34) to the preceding one. Thus the drive to the rollers in a particular track section is cut out as long as there is a crate in it and the preceding one holding the pressure rollers down.
|
