PURPOSE:To correctly detect an angled coarner even if the said coarner of the extracted graphic pattern is rounded by modifying a line information and an angle information to integrate two detecting angles into one angle in case only one extracting line exists between two neighboring angles extracted and the length of the said existing line is less than a prescribed threshold. CONSTITUTION:A reading part 1 reads optically a plane graphic. A digital- graphic signal is transmitted to a contour-pursuing part 2, and the peripheral dots of the graphic pattern are pursuited so that the line information and the angle information fare extracted by a line-angle extracting part 3. An analog modifying part 4, in case only one extracting line exists between the neighboring detection angles and the length of the said line is less than a prescribed threshold, integrates the said two angles into one angle, and further executes a processing to subtract '1' from the detection angle as well as from the extraction line. Then a form deciding part executes an identification-sorting processing of the read graphic.
