The display panel has numbers formed from seven straight elements arranged in a figure eight. Each element can be masked independently so as to form any number from 0 to 9. Masking is achieved by manually changing each element from closed to open position. - The element comprises a base extrusion (6), with an integral longitudinal shaft (10) along one edge, and a retractable, upper extrusion (7) incorporating a housing (9) which clips onto the shaft to form a hinge. The upper surface (11) of the extrusion (7) is the indicating surface. The retractable element (7) can be rotated 90 degrees to mask the indicating surface.
