The disc or cassette changer (1) includes a housing (12) receiving a magazine (14) for a disc or cassette, and a recording and reproduction head (23). A mechanism for positioning the magazine and reading head comprises a toothed wheel (22) engaging a toothed sector (20) carried by the housing (12) and a further toothed sector (24) carried by the reading head. - The housing (12) rotates about an axis (16) while the reproduction head rotates about an axis (25). A plate (10) attached to the housing (12) carries the toothed sector, whilst a micromotor drives the toothed wheel of the positioning mechanism.
