PURPOSE:To enhance printing resistance of the surface layer of a photosensitive body by forming an interlayer contg. at least 2 of C, N, and O between an electrostatic charge generating layer made of amorphous silicon hydride (a-Si:H) and a modified surface layer made of a-SiC:H. CONSTITUTION:The charge transfer layer 42 made of a-SiC:H and the charge generating layer 43 made of a-Si:H, and further, the interlayer 46 made of a-Si contg. at least 2 of C, N, and O, and the modified surface layer 45 made of a-SiC:H, contg. C in an amt. of about >50% of (Si+C), are laminated in this order on a conductive substrate 41, thus the permitting printing resistance and the mechanical damage resistance of the surface layer of the photosensitive layer to be enhanced, image quality to be prevented from deterioration due to white striations, etc., and characteristics to be stabilized. |
