PURPOSE:To simplify the transmission information processing and to make architecture of transmission system easy by transmitting a data between a controller and a high-order transmission line based on stored transmission information in a transmission system subject to hierarchy. CONSTITUTION:Transmission information designating a data flowing between a high-order LAN1 and low-order LAN 3a-3n, e.g., process information obtained by, e.g., a programmable controller PC 4a is set by a loader 17 by means of transfer data to which controller it is to be transmitted, the content is stored in a memory E<2>PROM 15. Then a transmission coupler 2a collects transmission information from the PC 4a in the timing shown next and the PC 4a and the high-order LAN 1 are transmitted based on the collected transmis sion information. Thus, it is not required to provide transmission information to transmission couplers 2a-2n.
