Textile material is printed in patterns by (a) treating, e.g. by dyeing; (b) impinging hot air jets on the dyed zones to eliminate non-solid components of the colorants by sublimation; and (c) controlling the areas reached by the hot air jets to obtain a suitable effect. - The equipment consists of a table provided with means of tensioning and positioning the fabric and a hot air chamber with inlet connected to a hot air source and nozzles.
