The equipment transports and processes different kinds of items, particularly spools onto which different kinds of spun threads have been wound, having a main track and branch trucks. The branch tracks off the main one (2) are taken back to it again, and processing stations for the tiems are mounted along their intervening sections. - The main track can be closed loop connected to the track returning the empty spools, and can incorporate in succession a spool-processing zone, a spool-feed zone and a thread end seeker unit.
