PURPOSE:To execute efficiently copying by detecting a state of an original which has been placed on an original platen, and controlling a copying operation. CONSTITUTION:A ROM34 and a RAM36 are connected to an MPU30. The RAM36 stores a data related to an original which has been placed on an original platen. Also, an optical detector 44 for detecting optically one or both of a density and a size of the original is connected to the MPU30 through an A/D converter 42. When a change of the original has been detected by this optical detector 44, a stored data of the RAM36 is updated, and based on its data, copying is executed. |
