PURPOSE:To produce a streak tube for successively measuring multichannel optical signals by burying optical fibers along the central line of a face plate on the back surface of which a photoelectric screen is formed and irradiating light to be measured upon the extending ends of the buried fibers. CONSTITUTION:A Kovar glass face plate 2 on the backsurface of which a photoelectric screen 6 is located is fixed through a ring 3 also serving as an electrode to a cylindrical body 1 which contains the photoelectric screen 6, a mesh electrode 7, a focusing electrode, an aperture, a deflecting electrode, a microchannel plate and a fluorescent screen. Optical fibers 4-1-4-x are buried along the central line of the face plate 2 in such a manner as to locate the output terminals of the fibers 4-1-4-x on the same plate as the face plate 2. A light-shielding layer 5 is formed on the surface of the face plate 2. Light to be measured is irradiated either upon the free ends of the fibers 4 or upon an optical connector 10. Accordingly, it is possible to increase the utilization efficiency of light and to produce a streak tube which can be easily handled.
