摘要 PURPOSE:To avoid variation of frictional force in one brake pad and to prevent squeaking of a brake and biased abrasion by providing a brake pad, the upper side of which is formed by the first friction material having high density and a small coefficient of friction, the other portion being formed by the second friction material having low density and a large coefficient of friction. CONSTITUTION:A brake pad is a deformed quadrilateral plate formed by an upper side A brought into contact with the peripheral edge of a brake disc, which is circular-arc, and by a forward side C, a backward side D opposite to the forward side C, and the lower side B opposite to the upper side A, which are substantially rectilinear. The upper side A, the lower side B and the longest distance (a) between the lower side B and the upper side A are respectively divided into three equally to form nine divisions partitioned by lines passing the dividing points substantially vertical or horizontal to the other line. At least one third to two third of the whole including the central division on the upper side A is formed by the first friction material having high density and small coefficient of friction, and the other is formed by the second friction material having low density and a large coefficient of friction.
