<p>Aq. dispersions of the polymers are made by polymerisation of an acrylic monomer, e.g. acrylamide, styrene, acrylonitrile, acrylate and methacrylate esters, to give a mol.wt. of 2000-100000, using water-soluble initiators of azo type, e.g. 2,2-azolis (2-amino propane) hydrochloride, 2,2-azolis (2-amidino propane) hydrochloride or 2,2-azolis (2-amino propane)acetate, and chain length regulators contg. sulphur, e.g. mercapto-propionic acid, thio-glycollic acid and mercaptanol.</p> |
