PURPOSE:To securely prevent the lock of rear wheels by controlling each of two hydraulic pressure control valves installed in a piping for each of front wheel cylinders, at the time of the lock of rear wheels, in accordance with the result of evaluation of the skid condition at that time and the result of evaluation of the corresponding front wheel. CONSTITUTION:The captioned device has wheel cylinders 7a, 11b and 7b, 11a installed in two systems and by means of X-piping, and first and second hydraulic pressure control valves 4a, 4b are installed between one of the hydraulic pressure generating chambers of a master cylinder 1 and the front wheel cylinder 7a, and between the other of the hydraulic pressure generating chambers of the master cylinder 1 and the front wheel cylinder 7b respectively. The skid conditions of front and rear wheels are evaluated by a control unit 31 and, when the result of evaluation indicating the lock or locking tendency of both of the rear wheels is obtained, the result of evaluation of a rear wheel which has indicated the result of evaluation indicating locking or locking tendency later, is logically combined with the result of evaluation of a front wheel which is in the same system as said rear wheel, to control each of the hydraulic pressure control valves 4a, 4b. |
