CROSSLINKABLE RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain a crosslinkable resin composition improved in flexibility and appearance of an extrudate, by mixing an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer with a polymer having a tert. carbon atom. CONSTITUTION:A resin composition prepared by mixing 100pts.wt. ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) with 1-20pts.wt. polymer having a tert. carbon atom. EVA having a vinyl acetate content of 5-15wt% and a melt index of 0.5-2 is preferable. Said copolymer can be markedly improved in flexibility and appearance of an extrudate by mixing this composition with 2-20pts.wt. ethylene/propylene copolymer. Examples of the polymers having a tert. carbon atom which can be suitably used include polyisobutylene, polybutene and, in addition, copolymers of isobutylene, butene or the like with other monomers.
